Fall?

September 12, I woke up and saw we had snow on the ground.  Really?  We had 90 degree weather a few days later.  It has been crazy.
Then on September 29, we had intense hail and rain.  It came down fast and hard. The rain gutters filled with ice and the water just poured down off the house.  It reminded me a lot of Girls Camp!

Ice Skating

The kids had a day off of school, so we decided to use some of their coupons they got from the summer reading program at the library.  They had free ice skating coupons, so we went and did that first.  They had never done it before, but they had a blast.  Goofy tried going around with the buckets once, but then decided he was better off without them.  Minnie used them for longer, but kept falling down. I finally told her to try skating without relying on the buckets. She did much better after that and didn't fall down at all.

Tink said she felt like Elsa from Frozen, gliding along on the ice.  They were all getting really good by the time we left.  Goofy had a bad fall at one point, smacking his head on the ice. He was trying to get off the rink and just slipped backwards.  He was okay though, thankfully.

After ice skating, we used their coupons for a free lunch at Louie's pizza.  It was so yummy.  What a good looking group, huh?  PC got off work early and even met up with us at the end.  It was a great day.

Auntie K comes to visit!

Auntie K had a break from classes and was able to come visit for a week.  We went up to Helen Hunt falls but the trail was closed.

So we hiked up a nearby trail called Mt. Cutler.  It was a beautiful hike.  Only about a mile in and a mile back.
We saw this HUGE bug on the way up and on the way down. The kids thought it was cool.
The view at the top was amazing.  We could hear thunder when we were at the top and decided to hurry back down.  We didn't hit any rain though.
Here you can see Seven Falls.
At the end, we played in the stream a bit.  It was cool and relaxing.

Buddy Walk 2014

This was our second year participating in the Buddy Walk.  PC was not around last year, so it was nice to have him with us.  It was a really pretty walk.  We took Uncle Johnny with us as well.
The kids had fun getting each other and their friends wet to cool off.
Our buddy even jumped in the stroller with Shortcake.  She fell asleep near the end of the walk.
We love seeing the Storm Troopers there!
The finish line balloon arch got blown over as we were leaving.  They thought it was fun to run right under it.

They had bouncy castles and a climbing wall/slide for the kids.  Andy the Armadillo from Texas Roadhouse was also out and about.  We had a great time and it always feels good to support a great cause.
