School and more

With the kids finishing school online, we had to learn to make adjustments, just as the schools and teachers did. Bucko didn't have any assignments on Monday and the younger kids school would send assignments only on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, giving them two days to finish assignments. This helped a ton. The older kids all handled their own assignments, but with Shortcake, I needed to be there to help her. We often ended up using the iPad or my phone for her assignments. It was a lot of work and the kids are SO glad to be done. Bucko took his last final for an independent study class on Friday. Of course, Tink is now taking a summer class online--her last prerequisite for dental hygiene school. For teacher appreciation week, the kids drew pictures for their teachers. Shortcake had to draw a lot of pictures for different assignments, which was fine because she and Goofy had been watching a lot of how to draw videos online and spending hours just drawing together.

The school tried to do a spirit week, but the only day any of us participated was PJ day!
I snapped some candid photos while they were doing schoolwork one day.

Wendy's picnic at home!
Even just going to pick up Shortcake's new glasses was a treat as they got to get out of the house! (Though we didn't even get out of the car! We called when we arrived, and they brought them down to us!)

We did gel stain on our upstairs build in bookcases. There were a lot of books on those shelves!
I absolutely love how it turned out though! I've been getting the last of the rooms painted as well.

PC, Bucko, Rosie, and I hiked section 16 one day. We were so proud of Rosie doing it! It's a 3.8 mile loop.
A few of my friends and I have been doing a study of Christ for the past couple of months as well. One of us would pick the topic for the week, then we would spend the week studying that topic and then discuss through Zoom on Wednesday afternoons. It was so uplifting. I just love these women and loved studying in a different way.

Lots of meeting up with friends outside to just talk, 6 feet apart of course. ;)

May the 4th be with you! We watched Star Wars and Rosie dressed up as a Storm Trooper and Darth Vader during the movie.

Easter

Easter Sunday is always enjoyable with the family, and I think it was even more so this year. We got this cute card and rose from the Sister missionaries in our ward. We love them and this was so sweet!
I made the traditional bunny cake my grandmother and mother used to always make. They always used coconut for the fur, but since many in my family don't like that, I made ours triple chocolate and used powdered sugar. Yum!
We had a nice relaxing dinner with ham, rolls, mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole. We made resurrection rolls for breakfast.

And we hid chocolate bunnies for the kids to find. It was a nice day with lots of time to reflect on our Savior and His gift of the Atonement and Resurrection.

Friends and Family

We had a Girls Night Out this week! It was so much fun and so needed! I loved seeing some good friends and my girls all had a blast.

And we've had a few family gatherings that have been so nice too!

Tink has been working at Chick-fil-A as a delivery driver. She also has been working at a local dentist office, which she loves. She's still planning on going to dental hygiene school next year.

Made a few masks. Bucko made his own, as he needed one for a birthday party he was going to. Rosie wanted her doll's to match and my mom sent me that picture of her with her doll in matching dresses.

Our ministering brother dropped off a game night gift, which was so sweet and we loved!
We are enjoying the nicer weather and still working on lots of projects around the house.

Palmer Park reservoir

I've been wanting to hike the Palmer Park Reservoir trail for a while now and we were gonna able to do it this past Saturday. The weather was perfect and the view was amazing! Can't wait to go again. Next time we will bring a picnic lunch and hammocks!
