Bring on summer!

The next to last day of school brought warm weather and I decided to take the little girls to park when PC left for work. We had a great time until right after this picture was taken. Rosie was wearing sneakers and her shoe stuck on the slide as she and Shortcake were going down. It bent her leg straight back and underneath them. She cried for about fifteen minutes, so we went home. But after we got there, I realized she was not standing on her leg at all. Boy, did I feel horrible. Since I had waited too long when Bucko broke his ankle a few years ago, I called the pediatrician right away. They told me to come in and get it checked out. Of course, right before we were leaving, it started to hail. And it came down fast and hard. Visibility was very small, the sound was atrocious, and I even had to put it into four wheel drive so I wouldn't slide around. There was about six inches of hail on the ground as I was driving. The picture below I took on the way home from the doctor, so about two hours later. Luckily, Rosie's leg was fine. It is apparently really hard to break a bone at her age that way because flexibility is so high.
We have been enjoying the nice weather days though. Blowing bubbles is always a favorite.
Bucko went over to help his YM leader with his yard and got to drive this front loader. It took him a few minutes to get the hang of it, but he did really well and had a lot of fun.

School Projects

Minnie has been working on her science fair project for over a month. She did an experiment with plants to see if they would grow better with milk, juice, Sprite, or water. The fourth graders each presented them today to the school and the parents. We have been extremely sick all week with the flu, so Minnie was really worried she would not be healthy and back to school for it, but she made it! We had a rough time getting everything on the board because I was so sick I could barely move for four days. I lost my voice for two days as well. We were happy to be done with it!
Goofy also had a big project in second grade. The second graders always put on a "wax museum" each year. They pick a famous person they are interested in and research them. Then today, they all dressed up as their famous person and gave a one-minute speech about that person when someone pushes the "button" on their desk. It was fun. Goofy loved learning more about Bear Grylls and dressing the part. He did a great job.

Bike Rodeo

The second graders had a bike rodeo at school today. The Flight for Life helicopter also showed up. A friend of mine snapped these pictures of Goofy for me. Looks like he had a lot of fun!
